Financial Gifts

Financial gifts to the annual operating fund help keep our doors open and healthy food on the shelves for our partner agencies. Our funding comes primarily from individuals, businesses, and foundations. Churches, associations, schools and social groups also contribute much needed support. Financial gifts help us with our warehouse distribution program as well as our Community Kitchen and Kids Café Program. Funding support also allows us to purchase healthy foods to balance our donated foods and to pay freight costs on some donated foods.

Giving to CVFB is easy. Gifts are accepted by cash, check, or credit card (VISA, Mastercard, American Express) by phone or through our online giving option. The Central Virginia Foodbank provides emergency food assistance to more than 193,000 hungry people each month. Each year, we distribute more than 12 million pounds of donated food and grocery products to children, families and frail adults in need in 31 counties and 5 cities in Central Virginia.

Financial gifts to CVFB are used to distribute food to people in need of emergency food assistance. Please join us to support the many hard working people right here in Virginia who just can’t make ends meet. Your contribution will be used to help get food to hungry people in your community and help us end hunger in Virginia.

To contribute through your company's United Way program or the Combined Virginia Campaign, you need to designate the Central Virginia Foodbank as your agency of choice. Include the appropriate code on your donor form:
- If you are a Virginia state government employee, use code 3883 for the Combined Virginia Campaign
- If you are a Federal government employee, use code 9008
- If you are a local government or school employee, use code 111
- All other contributions through the United Way, use Central Virginia Foodbank-Agency 3051
