At CVFB we need three things to fulfill our mission – Food, Funds, and Volunteers

Food drives
Food drives organized by businesses, associations, churches and other groups are critically important as we work to keep our shelves packed with nutritious food for the hungry. The Foodbank can make your food drive easy and fun. Contact Brenda Miller (804-521-3272) for information about how to start a food drive.

Financial Gifts
Financial gifts to the annual operating fund help keep our doors open and healthy food on the shelves for our partner agencies. Our funding comes primarily from individuals, businesses, and foundations. Churches, associations, schools and social groups also contribute much needed support. Financial gifts help us with our warehouse distribution program as well as our Community Kitchen and Kids Café Program. Funding support also allows us to purchase healthy foods to balance our donated foods and to pay freight costs on some donated foods.
Giving to CVFB is easy. Gifts are accepted by cash, check, or credit card (VISA, Mastercard, American Express) by phone or through our online giving option. Please make a financial gift today – every dollar donated to the Central Virginia Foodbank can help to feed the needy in Central Virginia. Contact Tami Messenger (804-521-3275).

Volunteers
Volunteers are the backbone of CVFB. Each year hundreds of volunteers help with food drives, as warehouse assistants, gardeners, mentors, food delivery drivers, visitor services aides, and administrative assistants that help keep us running. A few hours a week or a few hours a year will help us feed the hungry. If you are 16 or older and have some time to spare, consider becoming a CVFB volunteer. For more information contact Sudeshna Das-Menezes (804-521-3277)
