OUR COMMUNITY KITCHEN MAKES
IT ALL HAPPEN
The prepared and perishable foods that we receive (primarily from grocery stores, hotels, hospitals and schools), must be handled quickly or will spoil. Our Community Kitchen makes that happen by flash freezing the food and then using it, along with purchased or other donated food, to prepare hot meals for hungry children.

This 900 sq. ft. facility on Northumberland Street in Richmond is woefully inadequate for the volume of children’s meals that are needed in our service area. Yet our staff there manages to prepare 2,000 meals each day during the school year and 4,000 daily in the summer.

 

Volunteers Play an Important Role
Our Kids Cafes could not function nearly as efficiently without our volunteer drivers
