Joining a massive "Food Fight"
Love those Wahoos? Can’t get enough of the Hokies? Whichever school has your loyalty, we’ve got one competition between the teams that gets you more involved than you’ll ever be by tailgating or sitting in the stands.
This year's competition will be held at all Richmond area Ukrop's stores from Monday, February 8 through Saturday, February 13. Each can or box of non-perishable food donated in either team's barrels will count for 1 point, and every $1.00 donated online at www.hokiesvshoos.com will count for 5 points. The website will start taking donations on Monday, February 1. Click here to make an online donation.
You can track the score throughout the week on the competition website, www.hokiesvshoos.com, with the winner to be announced on Monday, February 22.
The 6th annual Clutter Cleaner "Food Fight" capitalizes on the rivalry between Virginia Tech and UVA alumni and fans to encourage donations to the Central Virginia Foodbank. Last year, this week-long food and fund drive was one of the largest for the Foodbank at a time when donations typically drop after the holidays. UVA won last year, but the Hokies remain ahead all-time with 3 wins, versus 2 for the Wahoos.
